I’ve spent time in some Ikea kitchens. I’m talking the kind of kitchen where you walk into an ikea show room and think “wait, did I just orange portal back into my own kitchen?”. They always seem to have issues. One had this great 6 burner range with a freaking grill in the middle. But they installed the hood wrong so any grill smoke went around it and straight into the smoke detector. Any attempt to use the grill resulted in 2nd hand smoke and fanning of a smoke detector. Oiy.

Back when I was a Plumber I built a bunch of “designer” Kitchens, Baths, Pubs and helped restore a lot of Wright stuff. I learned bunches.
Rule 1. The Engineer is always right.
Rule 2. The Architect is always right.
Rule 3. The Tradesmen are always to blame.
With appliances like this? I’m putting the blame on New York City and Chicago proper.
Ikea is attractive in the same way Harbor..
